Would You Drink Your Shampoo?

by admin on November 30, 2010

Have you heard the phrase “What goes on your body goes in your body?” The idea is that body care products like shampoo and conditioner, soap, moisturizer, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, shaving cream, makeup, nail polish, and perfumes are absorbed through the skin, so it’s very important not to put anything [...]

As the holidays are upon us, it’s probably tempting to choose low-fat dairy products, sugar-free desserts, and “reduced calorie” options for fear of holiday weight gain. I get asked a lot about low-fat, fat-free, and sugar-free foods and if they are a healthy option for losing weight and keeping it off, [...]

By Nina Class (Wife to Dr Brian Class, and enthusiast to all things natural!)
Every day people ask my husband and I questions regarding healing diet, God made and Maximized Living Foods, and our meal and recipe ideas. They are occasionally posted here on our site, but with the holidays around the corner, I was searching [...]

Eat This to Keep Off Winter Weight

by admin on November 9, 2010

What if I told you there was a particular food group, which has been mislabeled as unhealthy, that is delicious, satisfying, and helps you get rid of excess pounds? Would you be interested in trying it out?
No one food can make us healthy by itself. But high quality saturated fat [...]

Are you getting your Veggies?

by admin on November 1, 2010

Do your kids (or even the grownups in your house) love vegetables? Do they go for color—tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, lettuce—or do they prefer white—macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, pasta—until it comes to colorful candy wrappers?
The idea that children don’t like healthy food is perpetuated by a sad truth: many [...]

Check out this great article I read on General Wellness Buzz.
10 Reasons Why Flu Shots Are More Dangerous Than a Flu
The verdict is out on flu shots. Many medical experts now agree it is more important to protect yourself and your family from the flu vaccine than the flu itself. Let’s take a look at [...]

This Halloween, try some chocolate that’s actually good for you! Raw cacao is recognized as a “superfood,” any one of a number of foods including blueberries that contain highly concentrated and beneficial nutritional properties, or phytonutrients.
“The cacao bean has always been and will always be Nature’s #1 weight loss and high-energy [...]

Milk-Why it doesn’t do a body good

by admin on October 19, 2010

Milk is considered by many a healthy food. Milk has in essence replaced water in the UDSA food pyramid, which urges Americans to have three cups every day. We’re urged to drink milk like it’s water mainly because of the benefit of calcium. But when health experts say that you need calcium [...]

Recently I congratulated America on making recent changes to improve our health and that of the planet: winning the war against Big Tobacco and implementing reusable grocery bags. I have more good news! Americans are consuming less corn syrup than we have in 20 years! Congratulations are in order.
However, this isn’t [...]

Can Mammograms Cause Cancer?

by admin on October 4, 2010

Studies Show Radiation from Mammograms Can Cause Breast Cancer
We’re coming to the time of year again when breast cancer awareness month approaches, pink ribbons plaster our cities, thousands gather to walk or run for stricken loved ones and we “hope” for a cure . . . someday . . . of [...]

A Job Well Done!

by admin on September 27, 2010

When it comes to our health and the health of the planet, it’s easy to be negative about the current state of things. Americans are sicker than we’ve ever been before—and so is our planet, all largely because of our own irresponsibility.
However, right now I want to specifically call attention [...]

WHATS THE DEAL WITH THE FLU SHOT?

by admin on September 20, 2010

WHATS THE DEAL WITH THE FLU SHOT?
Do you find it odd that flu shots are so common in this country? Not only common, but readily available? You can get them everywhere—CVS, Walgreens, WalMart, the grocery store. Free clinics are set up: they are giving this immunization away like it was candy, despite that [...]

Labor days….

by admin on September 10, 2010

Labor Days
As I prepared to relax and celebrate this year, my thoughts as usual turned to the ironic name of this annual holiday. But this time, I wondered how many people were actually not working.
It’s pretty clear that as technology makes our lives easier, it also carries with it complications. [...]

by admin on August 30, 2010

Who Is Responsible?
With egg and ground beef recalls making national news, it’s hard not to question corporate agriculture in America. Books like Fast Food Nation and even The Jungle long before it have long since exposed, questioned, and criticized unsafe mass production of animal products in this country, yet it doesn’t [...]

Rewriting the Future of Disease

by admin on August 9, 2010

Last week I came across an article about childhood obesity that stated “1 in 3 children born today expected to develop type 2 diabetes in their lifetimes.” It also stated that “the two major ‘weapons’ now deployed in the fight—moderate lifestyle interventions designed to reduce weight, and drug therapies to slow the progression of diabetes—are [...]

Breast Cancer-Are we really being preventative?
I was so sad to read about the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act being proposed. If passed, this bill would allow women (and men, who account for 2% of all cases) to stay in the hospital for a few days following a mastectomy, instead of being sent home directly after [...]

Too Much Information:
To Be Healthy, or Not to Be Healthy

We live in a society that bombards us with all kinds of ideas about health. Television commercials encourage us to ask our doctors about the latest prescription medication to relieve our depression, insomnia, acid reflux, or cholesterol. Fast food companies tell us to eat their low-calorie [...]
